QIMA Structural Audit Standards
Poor structural integrity and insufficient fire safety measures can have disastrous consequences.
QIMA offers structural audits to ensure that your suppliers' industrial and commercial premises are safe, up to relevant codes, and present no danger to employee life and health.
The findings of all structural audits are presented in a detailed report that includes an assessment of the current condition and suggestions for appropriate repairs and retrofitting measures.
What is a Structural Audit?
A structural audit is a comprehensive check of building safety. A QIMA structural audit typically covers:
- Detailed building descriptions, verification of structural certifications and construction approvals
- Load conditions floor-by-floor
- Description of structural forms, building foundation system and alteration review
- Structural defects, damages, distress, deformation or deterioration
- Plan and alignment
- Exposure to aggressive environment and maintenance
- Additional assessment of potential risky structures, such as water tanks, lifts and safety barriers
Additional extras include a full verification of fire and electrical safety conditions, and a thermo-graphic scan to verify the temperature of key electrical components at risk of overload.
QIMA Structural Auditors
QIMA structural audits are carried out by experienced and licensed structural civil engineers. A typical structural auditor has over 5 years experience in the relevant field, including design and construction supervision.
Auditors are local to the area and therefore have in-depth knowledge of the language, culture, laws, practices and regulations of the region.
Our auditors also receive regular training via the QIMA e-learning system on new standards, latest regulatory requirements and your specific client program.
Post Structural Audit
Based on the audit findings and recommendations, appropriate changes may be required. This includes repairs, strengthening of structural elements and replacement of damaged or faulty components.
QIMA can provide follow-up services, such as live load analysis, redesign of fire/electric safety systems, and more, to assist the factory in implementing the necessary corrective actions.
