SASO has posted a reminder that Shipment Certificates are only valid for 60 days after they are issued. Importers are encouraged to ensure their shipments clear before the certificates expire.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Updates Compliance for SABER Photo Upload Process
On July 21, 2022, SASO announced that Conformity Assessment Bodies (CBs) would be required to upload photos to SABER for regulated products effective July 24, 2022.
Photos must meet the following requirements:
- Photo of the front of the product (mandatory)
- Photo of the product label - if there is no explanatory data, a general photo of the product is acceptable (mandatory)
- Photo of the product brand (mandatory)
- Photo of the product packaging (optional)
- General product photo (optional)
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce Issues Recall for KION Chest Freezer
On July 19, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for KION Chest Freezers due to non-compliance with the Saudi Standard for Energy Efficiency. Consumers are encouraged to contact the company to arrange an appointment for a technician to remove the freezer and provide a full refund.
